Stuart Cogan says:

I guess this place has been a good luck charm for me.  Way back in 1995, I was soon to be unemployed.  We had already paid for our vacation, so off we went.  We came, we had fun and we got a phone call: call back for job interview.  I did the interview over the phone and by the time I got back to Philadelphia I had a job.  Good timing and good luck.  Osborne's has always been 'good luck' to me.  Glad you are here.

Samara Cogan says:

The thing I will always remember are the seagulls.  A couple of years ago I was holding a donut and showing it to my mom.  A seagull saw this opportunity and dove right over my head and grabbed the donut right out of my hand  My sister and I always used to chase the seagulls away while we were on the beach.  Whenever I think about Ocean City I will always remember the sound of the seagulls, the sound of the surf, sounds that I love. Sure do love the shore.

Alexis Cogan says:

One of my fondest memories was the summer of 2000. My only brother Ben spent the same week in O.C.  We spent as much time as possible together enjoying the beach, and going out to dinner.  One night, not having made plans to meet, we all ended up at the same restaurant (Dockside Cafe), when my brother shelled out.  It was Ben's last summer; he passed away at 39 in February 2001.  It gave me such a wonderful memory to keep of him and O.C.

Been coming about ten years.  We are so glad Alice gave us the name Osborne's Inn, so glad to meet Peggy Ann, she is a lovely person who makes you feel at home,.  The place is very nice and cozy and she makes you feel welcome.

We enjoy coming to Osborne's.  The place is so clean and modern.  Love the Osborne family, close to the beach and boardwalk, friendly people stay here.  We love this place!

When I'm in Ocean City again, I'm a teenager from Upper Darby looking for kids in my high school. The phone doesn't ring.  I have no errands to do, and I can read my novels and eat ice cream.  The Osborne's are friendly and welcoming and it's 'just like home in good-old Room 4' for several years now. I'm hoping for many more years here to continue making happy memories.

Traveling the world is really great...
but there are two places I appreciate...
                                            One is home sweet home...
The other is near the ocean's foam...
My wonderful world away from home....
                                            At the Osborne's Fairview Inn...
If I was any luckier... it would be a sin.

The Osborne's Fairview Inn is like a home away from home for us.  We have been vacationing here for twenty years.  As our children married and had families of their own they also came to Ocean City every year.  We have fond memories of Ocean City all of them made possible because of the Osborne's caring.  We hope to enjoy many more years at the Fairview Inn as guests and friends of Peggy Ann and Frank.

This year (2002) and last year we have increased our vacation list to include some in-laws, friends, and the niece and nephew of one of our sons and our daughter-in-law.  They too share the warmth and friendship we call 'The Osbornes.'

My memories of Ocean City began in the 1950's when my family came to OC for vacation.  it was love at first sight and that love continues today- 47 years later.  In 1974 I introduced my then - boyfriend (now, husband) to Ocean City.  Since then, we have spent some time every summer here.

Our first memory of the 'Fairview Inn' was 1978, we stayed in the 'Crow's Nest' at the Old Salt, which was located on 14th Street. When that property was sold, the new owner decided not to rent out the Crow's Nest.  So, the new owner suggested we call the Fairview Inn.  We called and booked room 'P' over the phone -  for a week!  At that time, apparently most people only rented for a day or so, when we said we wanted a room for a week -  Peggy Ann stressed the fact that there were no cooking facilities in the room and maybe Apartment T would be better.  When I insisted that I didn't care because I wasn't going to cook on vacation, Peggy Ann relented and rented me the room.  That conversation was in February of 1978 -  the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

As much as we love coming to Ocean City for the Boardwalk and the Beach, what really makes it special is coming home to the Osborne's Inn and visiting with the entire family!!

Thank you for 25 wonderful years of memories all your many kindnesses making us feel part of the family and your love.

Your home 'The Fairview' is as warm as the sunshine and as fresh as the ocean breeze we've come to expect and enjoy on our summer vacation.  I wrote the following poem in one such jovial vist.

                                                                       An Ocean Notion

I looked out through the mist of blue
Dotted sails tossed here and to,
                                                Raging tides frothy and white
                                               Attacking intruders on their site.
Sand, hot sand, greets my feet
A welcome cushion to my seat.
                                               Sun umbrellas offer shade
To sit and watch the bathers' parade.
Shouts of glee and memories made
                                               Children in the water wade
Girls in bikinis set a trend,
Boys with carefree looks to lend
Can all the beauty be for real?
Yes, if we have time to steal.
                                               God in this exquisite plan
                                               Provided for frivolity of man.

My fondest memory of vacationing at the Osborne's will always be the week of August 9, 1992.  That was the week my Mom came down with Jacqueline, Sean and me.  She had to leave mid-week to prepare for a family reunion.

It was on Wednesday she hugged me, kissed me good-bye and said 'I Love You Donna.'  I didn't know then it would be the last time I would hear her speak my name or feel that wonderful hug that always made me feel so secure and loved!  As you know she took ill after that, but by the grace of God she is still with us in her warm and loving Spirit.

Every year I pull into your driveway I can see her standing there, hear her voice, and feel that hug!

I look forward to seeing you and you family as I do every summer and hearing my sweet mother's voice.

We have been coming to Ocean City for thirty five years.  There is one place all our three sons and now four grandchildren can't wait to visit again.  Many memories of our children at Playland, golf, Wonderland, the beach and all the walks on the boardwalk.  It has been great fun watching the Osborne's family grow - you have made so many wonderful improvements to your home- you make us so welcome and we always enjoy staying here.  Best wishes and hope to see you every summer.  Your family and your Inn make us smile.  Thanks for the memories.

I began coming to Ocean City in the 'Sixties'.  Apartments were optional then, a sleeping bag and a few hours of undisturbed sleep were pretty much all that a guy needed, and that was available under the boardwalk.  Fast forward to 1986 and me with a lovely bride and a vacation to take.  Ocean City seemed the only place to be, and having been away for so long, the 'Port-O-Call' was kind of an obvious choice.  Carmela and I decided to go for a walk, and there in front of us was, you guessed it! Mr. and Mrs. Osborne's home.  This lady was standing on the front porch with this smile! Since then our apartment ('A') has been taken over with God's gifts, and we've been fortunate enough to have gotten to know this wonderful lady and her wonderful family.  It is true that Osborne's Inn is really a home away from home, you can leave for a year or so and come back, and it's like you really never left.   God Bless you all and thanks so much for the warmth, hospitality and most of all for having us in your home.

Historical Footnote:  In September 1966, my buddies and I made an agreement with the Ocean City officals never to place our sleeping bags under the boardwalk again.

The Amantea Family has been coming to Ocean City for many years.  We first stayed at Peg's parent's place and then met Peg and Frank.  We love it here and feel like it is just like coming home every summer.  We love the large front porch.  We remember the first time at the Osborne's Inn -  we rode the bicycle built for two.  It was a lot of fun.  Memories and a beautiful tan are the best things we take home.  Not to mention the leftover sand between our toes.  Your hospitality and warm smiles last in our hearts all year.  Thank you for a wonderful week again at the shore.
